Marmaris
 With a backdrop of pine clad mountains and overlooking a spectacular natural harbour, Marmaris combines natural beauty with a zest for life!
It is an ideal location for shopaholics with the traffic-free town centre and numerous popular chain stores alongside colourful local bazaars and specialist shops.  
Many of the bars and restaurants are situated along the paved promenade overlooking the bay. Sit and relax and watch the world go by.  
For the party animal, Bar Street is the place to entertain and be entertained. There are hundreds of bars and clubs in close proximity where you can dance the night away or take in a spectacular show.    
It is possible to walk the full length of the promenade from the marina end of town all the way to Icmeler, a distance of approximately 8km - about a 2 hour stroll, but with fabulous views.

Icmeler
 Icmeler is a much smaller and quieter resort than Marmaris, with a less crowded beach and surrounded on three sides by pine forests.
This is the place to come for watersports. Parasailing, windsurfing, jetskiing, scuba-diving, and yachting are just a few of the watersports on offer.
Water taxis regularly cruise across the bay between Icmeler and Marmaris.

 To the West of Marmaris is the Datca peninsula; renowned for it's natural beauty and climate and for it's many bays and stunning coves - many only accessible by boat.
The Eastern end of the peninsula, where it joins the mainland is is known as "the place where fish leap across" because of the narrow isthmus at the end of the fjord-like "Bencik Cove"
The far Western end is the location of the ancient Greek city of Knidos, famed for it's statue of Aphrodite - the first naked female statue in history (around 350 BC).
Datca town is a sleepy, picturesque fishing town with a charming, unspoilt feel.
There are numerous waterside restaurants to choose from after exploring the narrow streets.

 The town at the head of the large and serene Lake Koycegiz has a wonderful paved kordon (promenade), perfect for a leisurely stroll along the lakeside.
There are cruise boats and ferries to take you across the lake and downriver to Dalyan.
Many of the old Mugla style dwellings and Government buildings in Koycegiz have been restored to their former glory. One of them houses an Art Gallery.
After wandering around the town and it's many shops and attractions, call at one of the restaurants for cay or a meal and watch the sun set over the mirror smooth lake.

Dalyan
 The Dalyan delta is part of Turkey's first ever SEPA (Special Environmental Protection Area).
It is a wonderful natural phenomenon with Lake Koycegiz at it's head and Iztuzu beach on the coast. Between the two is Dalyan creek which meanders through the town, then widens and spreads into the maze of reed beds, home to a rich and diverse fauna and flora. The creek is home to the rare Nile Turtle.
The glorious 6km of white sand that is Iztuzu beach is one of the last remaining unspoilt nesting sites of the endangered Caretta Caretta - the Loggerhead Sea turtle.
Whilst there visit Kaptan June's Hut and museum, where the story of the fight to save Iztuzu for the turtles began.
Dalyan itself is a charming village with riverside walks and many shops cafes and bars. You can sit by the river, overlooking the famous Lycian rock tombs whilst enjoying a cay or coffee....or something stronger!
Take a two minute "ferry" ride across the river and visit the ancient Carian city of Kaunos that was founded around 9th century BC.
A boat trip upriver will take you to Koycegiz - the town on the lake. Many of these trips also stop at Sultaniye thermal springs. The warm healing waters and muds here, contain many minerals known for their recuperative effects.

 Gocek is a scenic 20 minute drive from Dalaman airport.
The natural harbour nestles at the foot of pine clad mountains and is home to three world class marinas.
One of the pleasures of a visit to this cosmopolitan resort is a stroll around the marinas to admire the array of bots of all shapes and sizes.
The waterfront is lined with restaurants and bars and the main street with specialist boutiques and antique shops.
Take a cruise around the spectacular "12" islands of the bay. On some you will find a simple restaurant, on another classical ruins, on others, nothing but peace and quiet.

 Fethiye is a bustling harbour and market town, a 45 minute drive from Dalaman.
Here you can explore the labyrinth of shops and restaurants lining the streets of the old quarter and pay a visit to the famous fish market. Choose your fresh fish from the market and one of the surrounding restaurants will cook it for you, and provide bread and salad for about 6 lira.
A 15 minute drive from Fethiye takes you to the "ghost village" of Kayakoy - the inspiration for Louis de Bernieres "Birds Without Wings". Abandoned in 1926 during the forced exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey; it was left to crumble into disrepair and is now an eerie and evocative place to visit.
